Jozi Awards 2006

With the newspapers filled with articles reflecting on the year that's (thankfully) almost over and done with, my personal list of Jozi Awards:

Gautrain construction in Rosebank & Sandton; newspapers filled with crime stories; cars that break down; speed fines; boredom.
First thing I'll learn in 2007:
How to read a map properly.
Worst way to spend my time:
Networking.
Most overrated person:
Richard Branson - he couldn't look me in the eye once during a 10 minute interview.
Charmer of the year:
Cyril Ramaphosa
Worst of Joburg:
Lack of decent public transport; crime; poverty.
Best of Joburg:
The people.
Money-saving tip of the year:
Place your credit card in water in the freezer. If you want to spend, you have to defrost first... great for impulsive buyers!
Restaurant of the year:
Some dodgy Thai place in Jan Smuts Ave where you can take your own booze.
CD of the year:
In Between Dreams - Jack Johnson (thanks mr!)

Best hangover cure:
MediaPark cafeteria omelette and light blue Powerade. A nap on the wheelchair toilet's floor also do wonders for the headache.
